About
Hello! 👋
Kumusta? & Konnichiwa! 🇵🇭🇯🇵

I’m Hiromi (’04 born), a half-Japanese, half-Filipina living in the sunny Philippines! ☀️🌴

Writing a bio is my absolute nemesis because my primary hobby in life is literally...trying new things. YEP, that's the hobby. 🎨✈️📚 My interests mutate on a weekly basis! One day I’m buried in a book, the next I’m plotting a travel route, overthinking the universe, or serving as a full-time butler to my dogs. 🐶🐾

Out of the 10,000 random things I dabble in, learning languages and learning in general mean so much to me.💬✨ For me, languages aren't just vocabulary lists, they’re how I explore my identity, unpack my sense of self, and make my world a hundred times bigger than I am. Plus, why have an existential crisis in *one* language when you can question the meaning of life in *five*? 🧘‍♀️🤯

I’ve joined all kinds of cultural activities over the years and love diving headfirst into new perspectives!

Can’t wait to exchange a little piece of the world with you. Happy Cardzilla-ing! (I guess?)📬🌸✨

📜 Quotes/phrases in your native language(s)

🤪 Local memes or puns in your language

🇵🇭 Flags / Infographics about your country

🌸 Cultural Symbolisms

🎨 Cute Illustrations!

✨️ Please don't be pressured if you don't have any of the postcards that I prefer. Send what you have and I'll appreciate it just the same. I put a lot of options above so you'll have many options to choose from, not so to burden you with what you might not have. 🤍

💭 Here are some prompts you might want to answer! (You don't have to, just if you want to! 🤍):

1. Beyond national history or famous landmarks, what is one hidden, unspoken, or everyday "micro-tradition" in your country that feels like the "real" soul of your culture to you?

2. What is one societal expectation or tradition in your culture that you feel doesn't fit your true personality at all? How do you navigate that mismatch?

3. If you were tasked with building a time capsule to represent the "actual everyday vibe" of your culture right now (not the tourist version), what 3 random items would you put inside?

4. Do you feel like a slightly different version of yourself when speaking your native language compared to when speaking another language? Which version feels closest to your true self?

5. If you had to swap lives with someone from a completely different culture for one month, which culture do you want to experience? and which things will you miss from your own culture?

6. If your relationship with your native country or culture was represented by a specific song, genre of music, or movie genre, what would it be and why?

📝 Also, if you could, please write to me in your native language. I love learning languages and I'll try to decipher them myself.
