About
Hello, friends! 🌎💌

My name is Sue, and I live in Wisconsin, USA. English is my second language. My parents are Hmong refugees from Laos who immigrated to the United States in 1980, and I’ve lived here all my life. I’m proud of my Hmong heritage and love learning about different cultures, traditions, and the stories that connect us.

I’m a lover of books, postcards, photography, and all things snail mail. I enjoy reading, journaling, collecting vintage postcards, and sending happy mail to people around the world. I’m also learning film photography right now and love the nostalgic feeling of photographs and old-fashioned ways of preserving memories. I’ve recently been experimenting with cyanotype printing and creating art from some of my photographs.

I also love manga and anime! Some of my favorites include Fruits Basket, Suzume, anything Studio Ghibli, The Apothecary Diaries, Yona of the Dawn, Haikara-San: Here Comes Miss Modern, Kamisama Kiss, Hakuouki, My Little Monster, Blue Spring Ride, Maid Sama, and Psychic Princess… and the list keeps growing! 📚✨

My family of six loves traveling in our camper RV. We spend as much time as we can exploring national parks, finding beautiful little towns and scenic places, and going on hikes to chase waterfalls. Nature has always been one of my favorite ways to recharge my soul. 🌲🏕️📷

A few of my favorites:

🌻 Flowers: Sunflowers & daisies
❤️ Color: Red
🐼 Animals: Pandas, horses, whale sharks, cats & raccoons
📚 Books: Fantasy, historical fiction, beautiful stories, and anything that makes me want to disappear into another world
📷 Photography: documentary, street photography, Nature, landscapes, little details, and things that feel nostalgic
✉️ Mail: Vintage postcards, stamps, stickers, washi tape, drawings, ink stamps, and beautifully decorated envelopes

If you can, please write the date on your postcard and use colorful or interesting stamps. I absolutely love decorations, so feel free to cover your postcard with stickers, drawings, washi tape, doodles, ink stamps, or anything else that makes you happy!

And although English is easier for me to read, I would love to receive a word, phrase, or little sentence in your own language. Please tell me what it means, too! I love discovering new languages through postcards.

You can tell me about your hometown, your favorite book, something beautiful where you live, a tradition from your culture, what you’ve been reading lately, or simply something that made you smile today.

Thank you for reading this far! 💌
I hope your postcard finds its way to me, and I hope mine finds its way to you.
