Hello, dear postcard friends! 😊
I was born in August 1975 in Magdeburg, in the former East Germany (GDR). Today, Magdeburg is the capital of the German state of Saxony-Anhalt.
I am a police officer, and my work involves planning and approving traffic arrangements for roadworks and construction sites in my district. I previously worked as a shift leader at a police station.
For a time, I also worked as an archaeologist. Unfortunately, I no longer have enough time for it, but my fascination with history and the stories hidden beneath our feet has stayed with me.
I am also a volunteer firefighter with the Nienburg fire department, where I am qualified to drive large water tender fire engines.
Family means a great deal to me. I am the proud father of a 26-year-old son and a 22-year-old stepson — and now also a very proud grandfather to a wonderful two-year-old granddaughter! ❤️
For nine years, I have shared my life with the woman I love, who is now my fiancée. Over the past two years, we have taken on a new shared hobby: renovating and improving our house by the river. It keeps us busy, but it is a joy to create our home together, one project at a time.
Australia is my second home. I visit often and love its beautiful landscapes, wildlife and wide-open spaces. Nature is something I treasure, both close to home and on the other side of the world.
One of my favourite hobbies is collecting postcards from all over the world. Each card is a little window into another place, and I especially enjoy landscapes and city views. Show me the beauty of your hometown, your region or a place that means something to you!
Of course, any postcard you choose will be warmly welcomed. If you like, tell me a little about the place on the card, your everyday life or an interesting piece of local history. I would love to discover something about your corner of the world.
Please remember to add the date and the postcard ID.
Thank you for sending a little piece of your world to mine.
Happy Postcrossing! 🌍📮
