You decide what you want to share about yourself

To exchange physical postcards, some personal information is required, but Cardzilla is designed so that every user can choose exactly what they want to share. Depending on how much you share, different features become available to you.

Anonymous visitors can use the site without registering. In this case, Cardzilla and other users know nothing about you. Your access will be limited to browsing the postcard feed and, country information, and public user profiles. Cardzilla only uses the cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to work. We do not collect advertising, marketing, or any other unrelated data.

If you want to do more than just look at postcards, such as liking them, you will need to register. For that, we recommend providing a valid email address. This address is visible only to Cardzilla and may be used to send you notifications. It is never shared with other users.

To send postcards, you must specify the country where you live and from where the postcards will be sent. Once you add your country, you will appear in the public list of users from that country, and this information will be visible to everyone. You can change or remove your country at any time.

If you wish, you can also share your full or partial date of birth and write any information about yourself. This will be visible to all other users.

To receive postcards from other users, you must also provide your full mailing address and your real name if it is required for mail delivery in your region. Your mailing address will not be visible in your public profile, but Cardzilla will share it with users who are assigned to send you a postcard. Cardzilla assigns addresses randomly and uses various methods to prevent address harvesting.

In your profile, you can choose the countries you are willing to receive postcards from. In this case, your address will be visible to random users, but only from those selected countries. You can even set the list to include only your own country.

Alternatively, you can clear the list completely. If you do that, random users will not see your address at all. Instead, anyone who wants to send you a postcard can send a special request, and you will decide whether to share your address with them or not.

You cannot directly access another user’s mailing address, but you can send them a special request. It’s then up to them to decide whether or not they want to share their address with you.

If you do not want to use your home address, you can rent a PO box or use an office address, as long as you are sure you can receive incoming postcards there.
